What is the QTPI Camp?

The annual UTOPIA Camp is designed for our Queer and Trans Pacific Islander community to gather in a space that allows us to thrive and build community across Turtle Island, for all of those living in the diaspora. Last year, we celebrated “Co-creating an Ecosystem of Collective Care” through intergenerational exchange, cultural games, connections, knowledge sharing, all while embodying our collective joy.

The UTOPIA Camp is an opportunity to be with one another and to be able to build and strengthen our Queerness and Transness within ourselves and with the world as custodians of our Mana.

The UTOPIA Camp is open to all faʻafafine, faʻatane, leitī, māhū wahine, māhū kāne, vakasalewalewa, palopa, akavaʻine, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, gender nonconforming, and gender diverse Pacific Islanders.

What to expect

Throughout the camp, attendees will engage in the following:

  • Building relationships with other QTPIs
  • Strengthening our Mana through fun activities
  • Cultural games
  • Cultural foods
  • Cultural learning
  • Cultural song and music
  • Unforgettable liberating memories
  • and lots of “ha ha” moments
