Trina Tuimalealiifano grew up on the island of Tutuila and hails from the villages of Iliili and Fitiuta Manu’a in American Samoa. After many years spent in her home land, she traveled abroad to pursue higher education, and completed her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu. Trina made her way to the Pacific North West some years ago, and now calls Washington her home. Trina says ” I love Washington because of the lush greenery, the cool weather, coffee but most importantly the network of support and safety I have with my fa’afafine sisters and family here; because of that, I feel right at home.”

A proud Fa’afafine advocate with an extensive background in education, cosmetology and sex work. A former Beauty Queen and ambassador of the Miss Society Of Fa’afafine In American Samoa from the year 2011-2012. She also served as the president and chair of the SOFIAS organization. Trina was instrumental in spearheading many community service projects and philanthropic events during her time with SOFIAS. Trina’s love for community stems from her love for her family. Her hobbies include singing, Tahitian dancing, gardening, strategic planning, and movies. She brings to the team a wealth of knowledge, vibrant energy, creativity, and lived experience.
