Nessi Lave Sagatu-Salave’a

MANA Youth Program Coordinator

Nessi Lave Sagatu-Salave’a (She/Her) is the proud child of Polava’a Sagatu hailing from the beautiful paradise island of Aunu’u, Amerika Samoa and Paletasala Salave’a hailing from the village of Leone, Amerika Samoa. Nessi was born and raised in the concrete jungle of Tacoma, Washington where she currently resides. Nessi is also no stranger to the MANA Youth Program. For the last two years, Nessi has been an active participant in our Ho’omau Program, Ala Mai Program, and has volunteered tirelessly for UTOPIA events. Nessi hopes that through this work she can connect to many other queer and trans youth who are struggling to navigate our school systems and help them through the process of living their truth. Nessi’s favorite hobby is to create fashion with all the clothes scraps passed down to her. Her greatest passion is the love that she has for cultural dancing. “Throw rocks at her and she returns diamonds“ as some of her fans would say. In her spare time Nessi enjoys spending time with family and chosen family.
