Melissa is a daughter, sister, parent of four, and grandmother of one(!). After 20 years as a hobbyist photographer, she became a full-time professional community involved photographer in 2007. Prior to engaging in the small business arena, Mel worked within the public education and community health arenas with a focus on promoting equity and eliminating disparities.
Services provided by Mel Ponder Photography include portrait and event photography for individuals, families, nonprofits, businesses, and community groups, as well as visual content for web, print, and social media campaigns and marketing. Although based in Des Moines, WA, she works throughout and beyond the Salish Sea/Puget Sound region.
