My name is Franzella Fofogafetalai Meleisea my pronouns are she/her and Taupou. Originally from the village of Leone of American Samoa, now currently residing in Kent Washington. I’m the seventh child (out of 10) of Iakopo and Masela Meleisea. My whole life I was born and raised in American Samoa but decided to move out here in the mainland for better opportunities. My favorite hobbies are cooking, singing and decorating cause I enjoy arranging flowers for churches, funerals or any service that they need my help with flowers.
When I moved here in 2014 I’ve heard so many great things about UTOPIA, I’ve seen the girls come here for the pageant and I’ve seen how great their fellowship and it made me wanna be part of this organization. So from there on I’ve been participating in all utopia events and functions from outreach to volunteer with food processing and distribution, clinics etc and it brought me so much joy just to help and give back to our community.
Any events, fundraiser or any function I’m always ready to be that person they can count on.
I am incredibly passionate about working with people and have a strong understanding of the value of teamwork. I do also take pride in taking initiative. I am a highly motivated individual who is eager to contribute to the success of the team. Helping and giving back to our community is the best feeling ever and it makes me wanna get involved even more with any functions we have cause the more we show them kindness the more they will come out and support our work as well.
Today, I’m very grateful and thankful for UTOPIA, not only they helped me in so many ways but they also provided me with resources that are very helpful that I can seek help to.
Hats off to UTOPIA Washington!
