Callie, a nurse and clinical operations expert, is driven by an unwavering passion for healthcare and social equity, particularly for her Pacific Islander community and all underrepresented and marginalized groups. With a 15+ year background in pharmaceutical and biotechnology clinical trial management, execution, and leadership, she embarked on her journey while earning a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2008, followed by certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) from Phoenix College in 2012.
However, her deep-seated commitment to serving community ignited a transformative shift in her focus towards healthcare and advocacy. As the Mapu Maia Clinic Administrator, Callie spearheads clinical operations with a dedication to ensuring compliance and delivering the highest quality of care to our community. This transition empowered her to apply her skills in providing culturally competent direct patient care while forging meaningful partnerships with community organizations to enhance access to healthcare resources.
Embracing her role, Callie envisions Mapu Maia Clinic as a beacon of Pacific Islander cultural values, transforming the standard Western medical service delivery model into a balance between medical innovation and the ancestral cultural practices and knowledge our communities have relied on generationally.
Continuously advancing her nursing education, Callie is committed to expanding her scope of practice to better serve her community’s evolving needs. Beyond her professional pursuits, she is rooted in Hawaiian cultural practices, studying under Kumu Lynette Paglinawan as a haumāna hoʻoponopono.
Callie re-charges by spending time with her ʻohana, reading, traveling, volunteering and being outdoors and in the water.
