Shalimar Sex Worker Toolkit
The Shalimar Sex Worker Toolkit Series honors and elevates the story of our fallen sister, Shalimar Seiuli. Shalimar is famously known as the transgender Sex Worker picked up by actor Eddie Murphy on Santa Monica Boulevard in 1997. Her death a year later was ruled an accident by investigators yet remains a mystery to her friends and community to this day. You can read more about her story in our Fofola le Fala ma Talanoa blog.
The Shalimar Sex Worker toolkit is a collaborative effort pieced together by organizers, community members, and volunteers who are current or former sex workers. The toolkit encompasses self-care strategies, resources and Sex Workers stories that are key factors to thrive and remain safe.

The 2nd Phase of toolkit serves as a manual for frontline workers in healthcare and law enforcement, offering guidance on delivering destigmatizing services to Sex Workers, grounded in care, safety, and well-being.
Toolkit - Phase 3
Allies and co-conspirators, working alongside us as Peer Educators & Community Organizations, aim to educate the public on the lived experiences of Sex Workers and advocate for their respective communities through The Shalimar Sex Worker Toolkit, which covers the history of harmful tactics and legislation, along with community-driven alternatives to criminalization.
