UTOPIA Washington Hoʻolauleʻa Presents…

Tausi

Weaving Ecosystems of Care

What our friends and family have come to know as our annual lū’au, has been renamed to center the celebration of QTPI community and culture!

Thank you to all our sponsors of the 2023 Hoʻolauleʻa – Tausi: Weaving Ecosystems of Care

In the past month, the Pacific Islander community across the globe has been overwhelmingly celebrated, mourned, and impacted. Throughout this month, we have taken time to strengthen our cultural foundations. As we reflect on an amazingly fruitful and celebratory August for UTOPIA Washington, we want to pause and take the time to express our deepest thanks and Fa’afetai tele lava to everyone who has helped to support and bring forth the 2023 UTOPIA Washington Ho’olaule’a: “Tausi – Weaving Ecosystems of Care”.

Our deepest gratitude extends to our event sponsors, donors, partners, friends, and all our community who helped to make this year’s Ho’olaule’a what it was; a celebration of our Queer and Transgender Pacific Islander community that continues to excel, bringing forth our talents, stories, and love for one another.

To our esteemed sponsors and donors: your contributions have not only made our goals achievable, but they have also given us the confidence to pursue excellence. Your investment in UTOPIA Washington and the QTPI community’s future is a testament to your belief in the power of positive change and equality.

To our dearest partners, friends, and family: your constant encouragement, love, and understanding have been a pillar of strength through the months leading up to the presentation of Tausi. We have felt your presence and support throughout this journey, and it proves that the journey is as important as the destination. We are grateful for the memories we have created together, and as we continue to bridge connections through our lived experiences, may we continue to do so in love and understanding.

To our beloved community: your unity and support have helped to show the true meaning of collaboration and togetherness, as well as the true strength and sisterhood of who we are. This production is a love letter to you, to us, to our future. Your willingness to come together for a common cause speaks volumes about the values that bind us, and we are honored to be a part of the QTPI community.

As UTOPIA Washington continues forward, we know that your support helps to fuel our mission to actively replace systems of oppression with ecosystems of care and safety for all our communities through Black and Brown organizing, prioritizing land and bodily autonomy, and reclaiming our cultural narratives. Your gestures, whether big or small, have reminded us of intentionality through action that can make a profound impact on the lives of others.

Once again, from the bottom of our hearts, Fa’afetai tele lava, Mālō ‘aupito, Si yu’os ma’ase, Mahalo nui loa, Vinaka vakalevu, Ngā mihi nui ki a koe, Fakaaue Lahi. Thank you very much.

With boundless gratitude and warm regards,

UTOPIA Washington
